1000 PIXELS

How it works

1,000 pixels exist on one page. They’re free, they’re claimed once, and when they’re gone that’s the end of it.

  1. 1

    Pick your block

Drag on the board to mark out a rectangle. Nothing to pay, so take what you need and leave room for everyone else.

  2. 2

    Upload your artwork

Nothing gets cropped. We reshape your block to match your logo's proportions — upload a wide banner and your block goes wide — and you can override the suggestion if you'd rather keep the size you picked.

  3. 3

    Submit

That's it. No card, no checkout, no waiting. Your block is on the board before the page finishes reloading.

Questions

It's really free?
Yes. There's no charge, no card, no account. Pick a block, upload a logo, and it's on the board. If you get something out of it there's a tip jar at the bottom of this page, but nothing is gated behind it.
What exactly am I getting?
A rectangle of pixels on a 40×25 board. The smallest block is 2×2, the largest is 8×8. Your artwork sits in that rectangle and clicking it opens your link.
Why only one block each?
Because it's free. Without a price to limit things, one person could otherwise take a big share of the board and there'd be nothing left worth looking at. One block per email address keeps it interesting.
How long does it stay up?
For as long as the board exists. No renewal, no expiry. Pixels are claimed once and never recycled.
How fast does it go live?
Immediately. There's no review queue and nobody sits between you and the board.
So what stops someone posting something awful?
Nothing up front, which is why the rules below matter. Anything breaking them is removed and its pixels go back on the board. If you spot something that shouldn't be there, email us.
Do you count clicks?
Yes. Every block links through a counter and the total is public, on your block and in the list of advertisers. It's the number that tells you whether this is worth anything to you.
Can I change my image or link later?
Not through the site. Email us from the address you claimed with and we'll sort it out, as long as the new content still passes the rules.

Content rules

Blocks go up without review, so these are enforced after the fact. Anything breaking them is removed and its pixels go back on the board:
